CELLE LIGURE IN ONE DAY
Description of offer
In the western Ligurian Riviera we find a small jewel overlooking the sea, Celle Ligure, a town with colorful houses, sandy beaches and characteristic caruggi overlooking buildings of great artistic value, including Palazzo Ferri, the current town hall. The old town has retained all the charm of the ancient fishing village, originally there were only buildings, used as deposits for boats, called "LA CELLAE" from which the country takes the current name of Celle.
In the center there is the Rest Home Nostra Signora della Misericordia, which preserves a precious collection of majolica from the 18th century Ligurian pharmacy, 35 blue-white ceramic vases that testify to the presence of the ancient kilns in the surrounding area and the roots of the tradition of white-blue.
Walking through alleys and alleys still well preserved today, you can not miss the visit to the underpass, which was previously the only coastal communication that divided two curtains of houses, one overlooking the sea and the other on the area of gardens and today it is a small art gallery that houses ceramic works by Marcello Mannuzza, Leony Mordeglia and Carlo Sipsz.
To finish, you will visit the workshop of a Cellist ceramist, who still today through the clay and a lathe, modeling pots of every kind and shape, creating true works of art.
