La Spezia in one day!
Description of offer
La Spezia, like all Ligurian cities, is made up of alleyways, narrow streets where the houses are generally placed contiguous to each other, tower houses merged for defensive needs and small open spaces where it was possible to carry out trade and associated life with greater agility. in general, not squares but fields. The most representative monument of the historical story of the city is certainly the Castle of San Giorgio, placed on a small relief called the Poggio.
You enter the Archaeological Museum of the San Giorgio Castle through one of its many stairways: the view from there is spectacular and you can enjoy a unique view of the city, from the typically marine one to the liberty details of its buildings. The Naval Technical Museum is also worth discovering, where you can admire: ancient weapons, underwater weapons, diving suits, divers and the remains of submarines dating back to the Second World War, a must for lovers of the sea!
Along the Via del Prione you can see the countless shops for those who love shopping, but also the Amedeo Lia Civic Museum: thirteen rooms and hundreds of precious pieces, including medieval miniatures, Limoges ceramics, portraits and sculptures.
Do not miss the palm-lined promenade starting from Porto Mirabello, where several luxury yachts are moored. It was inaugurated in 2010 and is also famous for its pedestrian bridge, which connects the port proper to the Morin promenade.
